A Tale of Two Missions: Chapter 35

Hey y’all!

Can you believe it’s been 35 weeks? That’s nearly 9 months.. Dang, time flies!
I was informed by a few that my picture attachments last week failed to send? So I have reattached them below for your viewing pleasure 😉

Biggest news this week is that our Stake just split!! They created a new Stake here in Sydney! WOW the Gospel is spreading so much all over the world and especially here in Australia! We are still in the Liverpool Stake but our Ward has been changed from the Liverpool 1st Ward to the Wattlegrove Ward! So my “W” streak still lives!! (Wylie–Woden–Wattlegrove) woohoo! 🙂This week has been pretty great! It went by pretty fast considering P-Day last week was 1/2 way through the week haha. But this week consisted mostly of continueing to find members on the Ward list and try to meet every person! 🙂 It’s been an absolute blast meeting heaps of new people and getting to know the Ward. We found a wonderful Part member family, Ty and Alisha and their 3 little girls, and they seem really keen to learn more and to come to church! We didn’t see them yesterday but they are super great and we’re really excited to start working with them!

Other than that we’ve been following up with some former investigators and potentials in our area which has been great! We had a funny/frusterating situation that made me really wish for once that I wasn’t American…. usually people here are SO nice and just love Americans! But ALL the time you meet people who are obsessed with American Politics and conspiracy theories about politicians… Specifically the presidential campaign… Good grief, as soon as some one finds out we’re American the first thing they say is “oooo how do you feel about Donald Trump for president!?” lol they either love him or hate him haha it’s kinda funny but in this instance we were following up with a potenial investigator and he found out we were American and he then launched into this 1.5 HOUR (I kid you not..) rant about American politics and about how Trump is going to be the thing that “saves us all” and how the country will die if he doesn’t become president, and these CRAZY conspiracy theories about aliens, immigrants and prisons in Walmarts.. good night, I legitimately was thinking of ways I could “accidently” fall off the porch and have to get rushed to the ER or if I could pretend to faint and then Sister Procarione could take me home… We could not get a single word in haha all we could do it stand there until finally we just said “um we have to get home for curfew now.. bye!” lol #merica #missionprobs

So that sums up my life here so far! We’re almost 1/2 through the transfer and we have lots of work to do! Loving it! 🙂

Love y’all heaps,
Sister Swan🍍

PS yes I do live in Sydney(: Liverpool to be exact, haha but no I am not anywhere close to the Harbor or the Opera House.. unfortuneatly it’s not even in our mission 🙁 but I’ll get to see it when I go home! (Our Mission President takes us there on our last day)
