Hey y’all!! So this is the first “normal” monday Pday this whole transfer! (we’re in week 4 already..) because the last few weeks have all been public Holidays including the Queen’s birthday! Haha that was pretty funny.. there was definitely more than one drunk person out in the streets singing “Happy Birthday to the Queen!!” lol ββquite a show.. but it’s been good and this week we also had a mid-transfer change of companions. My companion is now Sister Sekete. She is from South Africa and is pictured below π we didn’t change companions because of me and Sister Verances though don’t worry! We were called to save a couple of other sisters (: so President promised that Sister Verances and I can go back to being companions again next transfer! Miss that girl already, but I’m glad I still get to be flatmates with her! π Things are moving along with our Area. We have an investigator we’ve been teaching for a few months named Sharon who is absolutely amazing(: She’s a single mum with the cutest little boy at home! He’s only 4 months old and man does he make me miss holding babies!! But I love Sharon so much! Last night she was feeling pretty sick and so we called the Elders to come and give her a priesthood blessing. She felt the spirit so strongly afterwards that she hugged me crying and asked me when she could be baptized! What a tender mercy. I hugged her tightly and told we could baptize her tomorrow if she wanted! She laughed and asked if she could meet with Bishop first. So we sent him the message this morning(: Please keep her in your prayers!! <3 We’re so excited to see her take the steps that bring her closer and closer to God!
We had our International “Foodie” Night on Saturday(: WOW what an incredible turnout!! It was amazing(: I attached some pictures of the night and the happenings… I made some caramel popcorn (mum’s recipe, thanks!), pumpkin chocolate chip cookies, and soft pretzels! It was super yummy π We also had 14, yes FOURTEEN, investigators/nonmembers attend and participate in the activity between the sisters in the Ward! How cool is that?!? And we gained two new investigators from it and got a referral from a member. It was really great, and our American table won the “Best Table” award! Woohoo! #merica and I was chosen to represent America and go up on stage to give a brief history of the Church in America. And so seeing as the Restoration actually took place in America I got to get up in front of the entire crowd of members, nonmembers, investigators and friends and simply teach the first missionary discussion: The Restoration of the Gospel of Jesus Christ! It was so. cool. I didn’t have any good pictures while I was up there though.. I’m sorry.. but it was really neat! The church is TRUE y’all!!!
We also had a special “flat conference” with our Mission President and his wife, Sister Back, this week! It was so fun! They came to our flat and inspected it and then we got the opportunity to teach them a 6 minute timed lesson of our choice! We taught the Plan Of Salvation! It was a little nerve racking at first, but Pres. and Sister Back are so cool and so supportive that we just had heaps of fun! And to show them how much we love them, we made them dinner too! I made some pizza (Aunt Lori’s recipe! Thanks!) and garlic bread (used the extra pizza dough lol), and sushi!! It was so fun! Man, ever since getting that apron from our member, I have become 10 kinds of domestic… lol it’s hilarious! But I’m baking and cooking like all the time now.. it’s awesome!! I even made KUMQUAT MARMALADE!! Yes. It was fabulous. #wifematerial #butnotfor7months #ewboys
That about sums it up this week.. I hope y’all’s week has been fabulous! And if I didn’t email you back personally this week know that I love you HEAPS and that you’re amazing!
βLove and prayers,β
Sister Swan
