Hey y’all ๐
This week has been full of miracles! Sharon has decided she wants to be baptised in the river nearby.. which is a lot closer than her original request of the Ocean haha (: so that should be super exciting! She met with Bishop and so we’re set ahead for her baptism in a couple weeks! Keep her in your prayers(: We met with our lovely Loyola family. They are so great, they are from Chile and she is a member but her husband and two adorable kids are not. They have SO much faith though, we LOVE going over to teach them because it always uplifts us and brings the Spirit so much in our lives. They are planning to come to church this Sunday and we can’t wait to introduce them to the Ward! Speaking of the Ward, man, Wattlegrove is so awesome! I’m so grateful to be serving here. I’ve just been so blessed on my mission to have served in three of the very BEST areas and Wards out there! (The “W” game is still going strong!) Being a missionary is fabulous…
We have this Catholic family we teach who Indian but they are from Malaysia (shout-out to Sister Roberts and Elder Clark!). They invited us over for dinner this week and we had this yummy Indian chicken and potato curry with rice and potato mash, and we ate it all with our HANDS. It was great, yet really weird because I’d never done it before but “when in Rome…” right? My companion requested a spoon though.. lol x) There are a lot of Indian people here, mostly from Fiji though, so we find ourselves eating a lot of Indian food. I never liked it before, but now I can’t get enough of it! yummmm! Sharon is Fijian-Indian and she feeds us all the time, she’s also a vegetarian too.. score! (:
We went and followed up with one of our former investigators Susie (kindred spirits(;..) she was so sweet!! She’s catholic and super faithful and she just makes us smile. She’s renovating her home though and so she told us to come back in a month. Hopefully I’m still here by then!!
We did heaps of service this week(: We volunteered to help make cupcakes for a 3 yr old’s birthday party (domestic remember? haha), we’ve been helping a member organize and pack for her move, we also got the opportunity to use our talents and the Primary enlisted us to come paint trees for their musical activity (they put on “Lehi’s Dream” with songs from Disney! So cool! We couldn’t attend though…) I didn’t get a picture of the finished product, but I did get one of the artistic process haha.. I’d forgotten to bring messy clothes so we improvised with garbage sacks x) I’ve missed painting! On Sunday the Primary also enlisted us to teach Sharing Time with the kids in both block hours. It was super fun and I brought my uke to entertain them with some primary songs! ๐
I hope this coming week brings you miracles and joy!
โLove y’all heaps,โ
Sister Swan
