MIRACLES HAPPEN Y’ALL!!!
1st- EMMA CAME TO SACRAMENT MEETING!!!!!!!! 😅🎉😁🎆😂😱 Hallelujah! She had promised last week that she’d come this week but she’s said that heaps of times before so we didn’t really believe her lol.. So this is the first time she’s come since like the beginning of the year!! And Ebony her 14 yr old daughter and Deja and Terence her twin 3yr olds came too! We had to literally go over at 8am to wake her and the kids up to get them ready though… haha good grief I had no idea how hard it was to wake a teenager up… (sorry mom and dad haha..) We were practically jumping on Ebony’s bed and tickling her sides before she even stirred. It was pretty funny x) and the twins apparently had gotten up multiple times in the middle of the night and were up at 3-4am watching Twilight the night before (did I mention they were 3? hahaha) so they were less than happy to wake up.. BUT THEY DID IT!!! They came!!! It was seriously such a miracle! Emma is progressing again now! π our next step with her is getting them to stay for all 3 hours! 2nd- THE WHOLE CHILE FAMILY CAME TOO!! Marco, Francesca, Martin and Antonia came! π We did not see that coming at all… it was SO awesome! π Man, I adore this family so much!!! They only stayed for Sacrament meeting too, but it was such a huge leap to get even that! I’m so happy they came.. hopefully they’ll come from now on! <3
3rd- We set a baptismal date with a New Investigator we found in the Area Book named Hamlet, so naturally we just HAD to go follow up with him… (hehe theatre probs) but turns out he actually hates that name so at the end of the lesson he told us that he would prefer to go by Antonio haha but he is a single guy so we went with one of our YSA sisters, Tassie, who is preparing to go on her mission to the Fiji Suva Mission in November! It was so cool. We taught the Restoration and the entire time we taught him, he kept asking these really in tune questions that led right into the next topic we were going to discuss! And if that wasn’t cool enough, right before we taught about the Book of Mormon he turned to us and said “you know I’ve been thinking.. and I really believe that after Christ died and Resurrected, He went and visited the American Indians…” what. the. 😏 “umm sir, did you know that is the exact doctrine that the Book of Mormon teaches????” it was so neat!!! The gospel is SO true!! It speaks to everyone π And when it came time to inviting him to be baptized, as soon as the words were out of my mouth, he said “YES! I will!” boom. now we’re planning another baptism for next month! but we actually might have to pass him to the stinky Elders cuz he’s a single guy and stuff… ugh.. oh well! It so neat so be a witness to the gospel touching hearts!
4th- We FINALLY got to have a 2-on-1 lesson with Kylie (: she told us of her desire to stop smoking, get married, be baptized and go to the temple to be sealed.. in that order. So neat!! So we’re going to do a crash course this week with Bishop to get the ball rolling and see where we go!! Woohoo!!! <3
Well I love y’all heaps!! Tell me of y’all’s miracles you see too!!
Much love,
Sister Swan
βPictures: Well as you can see… my love this week is for the Chile Family… we had a fun photo sesh after one of our lessons with them this week and had a blast. Antonia has a camera that prints the pictures almost immediately (for the life of me I can’t remember what those are called lol..)β and then she signed them for us! precious!! (PS ignore my messy lion mane of hair in the photo of Antonia being a missionary, I had just taken it out of a pony tail lol…)
Also I found my fellow Swan.. I think I’m going to start taking pictures of each one I find here x) haha
Our relief society hung up this picture of the Logan Temple yesterday for church and I felt like I was home <3 and we listened to a talk by Elder Gary E. Stevens (from 2009, before he was an apostle) and he shared a story about growing up in Cache Valley and how his sons told his father one day that “you are never lost as long as you can see the temple.” And that definitely hit home, because I remember growing up with the same mentality when I could see that beautiful Logan Temple out our back window! I miss Cache Valley! But I got the spiritual aspect of it too in that as long as we stay close to our Temple ordinances and covenants, we are never lost. <3 Love y’all!!
