A Tale of Two Missions: Chapter 50

G’day y’all! <3

Dang Gina… it’s Chapter 50 already… whew time flies when you’re having fun! And being a missionary is just the “funnest”! haha It’s the last week of the transfer so we’ve decided to go super hard and teach 20 lessons! We taught heaps last week and this week will be even better!! So excited! 😀

This week like I said, we taught HEAPS and we gained a new investigator! 🙂 His name is Misheck, and he’s from Zimbabwe. Dang, he is GOLDEN. We’ve already taught him 4/8 lessons and it’s only been a week! And he’s already committed himself to baptism, to live the Word of Wisdom and to keep all the commandments.. SO cool! Can’t wait to see where this week takes him!

We had another Temple trip this week!!! So amazing! It really was much needed lately and I learned so much! What a beautiful house of the Lord.. it was perfect timing too, because just on Friday we had a kind of disheartening lesson on the Law of Tithing with our beloved Chile Family: Marco, Francisca, Martin, and Antonia. We taught tithing which they were all keen on until they found out that some of the funds go to building Temples and Chapels. They were almost offended that we as a Church spent the money on “beautiful buildings” rather than on the poor.. never mind all the money that goes to charity from Fast Offerings and other funds… So our lesson transitioned into one on Temples and the importance and need for them. That God commanded us to build Temples to worship and perform sacred ordinances in them for ourselves and those that have passed on. They seemed to be convinced that one didn’t need to be in a “special building” to be with God.. In the end we just simply bore our testimonies on the Doctrine of Temples and how important they are in our Church and in the world. The spirit was so strong as we testified, and we pray that they felt it too <3 They are still some of our favourite people to visit regardless and we will never give up on them! Pray for them 🙂 But the Temple today was SUCH a needed relief after that and I am so grateful to be near enough to one to partake of the blessings inside. CHALLENGE: If you haven’t been to the Temple in the last month.. GO! If you aren’t worthy yet.. GET THERE! If you aren’t even baptised yet.. TALK TO THE MISSIONARIES! (you DON’T want to miss out on these blessings!) If you aren’t old enough yet.. START PREPARING NOW! You will NEVER regret the changes you make in your life to be able to attend the Temple.

In other news.. Like I mentioned last week, Our friend Mindy got baptised here on Friday! And she wanted me (of all people…) to sing for a musical number (a medley of “Families can be together forever” and “I Feel My Savior’s Love”). Which would of been just fine, except the flu bug got me this week.. and ugh, my voice was terrible lol. But hopefully the angels covered what I totally lacked..

This weekend we’re having a FUN Disney movie trivia night with our Ward that we got permission to attend and bring our investigators to! We’re so excited because we have heaps of people lined up to come. It should be awesome!! <3

That should cover it this week… Pray for my newly dubbed RM companions, Sister Stott and Sister Procarione!! They’re HOME!! Holy heck! Catch them at USU this fall 🙂

Love,
Sister Swan
