Dang folks!!! has it been a year since I became a missionary already??? Well shucks.. it sure has.. and I’m loving every minute!!! (prepare for picture overload…)
Well I love it here in Bathurst! We have done heaps of service here and it’s great(: a lot of the people we teach here are older and so sweet! On our way out here to Bathurst we swung by the Three Sisters in Katoomba, NSW.. nothing like the Three Sisters in Oregon but stunning nonetheless! Australia is SOO beautiful! and it is so gorgeous out here in the Bush! Each view reminds me of either Idaho, Oregon, North Carolina, Texas and Utah or all of them wrapped up into 1. it’s beautiful, I love it.
On Saturday we had a great activity with our District (equivalent to Stake) Relief Society! So fun(: we talked about letting our light shine and growing in the light of Christ. and they gave us some great ideas to strengthen our scripture studies! After the activity we went and did some service up in Orange Branch. We helped a few of their investigators clean and “dehoard” haha it was very interesting and we should have taken a before/after picture… ugh regrets.. Side note: mom, if you ever thought my room was bad growing up.. come visit Bathurst… #nuffsaid
We also did some service for our Primary President, Sister Remme. She and her husband breed and show Saint Bernard dogs! So they have about 16 of them up on their property and so we go up every week and help groom and walk them(: they are GORGEOUS and GINORMOUS!! I’ll send a picture hopefully next week but it was so much fun! Unfortunately though, about a 1/2 hour after we left, it turns out poor Sister Remme was attacked by one of the biggest males they had. He had just been rescued, so he wasn’t trained fully and wasn’t as accustomed to her yet.. but this dog was absolutely monstrous and he bit her up pretty badly..😖 she was just taken down to Sydney to get another surgery so please keep herย and her family in your prayers.. In saying that, I just want to take a moment and testify that God is a God of miracles yesterday, today and forever. Sister Remme had been stuck in the pen and mauled for two whole hours in the freezing cold before her husband found her. Her arm had been completely shredded all except the main artery that goes through the arm. The doctor in analyzing her injuries said that under any other circumstance she should have died. But by some miracle, her artery stayed intact and untouched by the dog’s teeth.. she’s alive and well because of her incredible faith in Christ. It is an absolute miracle and I’m so grateful for the grace of God in allowing her to live so she can continue to bless so many lives! Faith is a powerful thing and it not only saves lives, but sustains them! ๐
God is real y’all and He loves you! and so do I ๐ Take care this week!
Much love,
Sister Swan
