A Tale of Two Missions: Chapter 15

Hey y’all!

Well this is it… Wow, this week has been a blur! Its been really hard to admit that this was my last week in Wylie. I love the people here so much! So this week has been full of lots of “see you laters”, hugs and tears! To all my Wylie/TDM peeps: I LOVE YOU TO KOLOB AND BACK! ❤️

Here’s my new address for while I’m at the MTC! I’ll be there from December 16th-30! I’m excited to be there for Christmas, it’ll be a blast(: they have advised me to let y’all know to send Christmas packages and letters early though.. So if you want to send me something while I’m there, send it this week-ish please! 🙂

So on top of me leaving this week… We also had a Ward split yesterday! Like so intense! They added a Wylie 4th Ward! And so we have no idea which Wards we will be over any more! So poor Sister Stringfellow is having the transfer of a lifetime! It’s looking like for the next 3 weeks before the end of the Transfer, she won’t be getting a new companion at all… and so she’s gonna have to use the 16+ aged girls in the Ward as companions! Crazy right?! We’re praying it will work out for her.. I feel so bad to leave her in this mess haha but the Lord definitely has His hand in all things(: He is guiding everything and helping this all work out!

Also, We went on exchanges this week with Sister Gilbert and Sister Howell! I stayed here in Wylie with Sister Gilbert(: it was so fun! I learned so much from her! And we got a new investigator this week! Her name is Kellye(: it was actually pretty inspiring how we met her! We had stopped by to visit a less-active and Kellye lives right next door to her and so we contacted her and shared the Christmas initiative video with her! She so incredible(: I can’t wait to hear how she progresses!

Karen decided to push back her baptismal date :/ she did it so she could tell her family more about it(: which is good, I’m just sad that I won’t get to be here for it 🙁 but she still has no obstacles and set to be baptized!! I love her so much(: and I will miss her even more! She’s so incredible! 💕

So probably one of the other people I’m going to miss most is Sophia, a young woman in 3rd Ward (well now 1st) and we spend our P-Days with her and her family! And let me tell you about her little puppy, Suki… 🐶❤️ so get this.. Sophie has trained her to go to her corner for time-out when she gets in trouble!! Haha and Sophie’s a vegan.. And so yes, Suki is too! She chows down on salad and oatmeal, it’s hilarious! And Suki is only a 5 months old Yorkie… So Sophie will carry her around in her purse and she’s bell trained haha she’ll go to the back door and ring a bell when she wants to go out.. It’s ingenious! Suki is pretty much the perfect dog… As far as small ones go anyways 😉 it’s so cute! But for real.. I’m gonna miss Sophie SOOO much! We’re pretty much the same person haha the Solis family will forever hold my heart! They’re taking us out to FroYo today! It’s tradition ❤️

Here’s my spiritual thought of the day! One of my new favorite scriptures in the New Testament is Romans 8:35-39

“35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written, For thy sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.
37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

I love this so much because Christ is ALWAYS on and by our side no matter what(: never forget that He will NEVER leave our side and it’s up to us not to leave His!

Love y’all so much! And next time we talk I’ll be in the grand ol’ MTC!
