G’day y’all! (see what I did there? best of both worlds!)
We saw some awesome miracles this week!
I guess one of the biggest things that happened this week is that we FINALLY met with Tim and Kristie!!! We’ve been trying and trying and trying to get in with this family, because they are a couple and they have 6 boys, ALL under the age of 11!!! Awesome right? you’d think they were Mormon or something… π They are such a great family! and we taught them the restoration and invited them and their oldest boy Cory to be baptized and they said YES! So if all goes well we should be seeing them all in white (and their other boy Alex) soon! π
We were also able to see another family that we hadn’t seen forever! They’ve been on Holiday in Queensland for months! But they have 8 kids and the mom and all the kids old enough have all been baptized. We’re helping them to come back to church and hopefully the dad will come too! (: I love the Gospel so much! I’m so glad that God answered our prayers in finding these families!
We met with Matt and his family this week too! Still working on getting him ready to be baptized! I love this family! And we also met with Liz and Sam again. They’re a Part member family from Lebanon and Tonga! They are super nice π
The crowning event of this week was we had a Zone Conference and Stake Conference this weekend!! Fabulous!! I loved it so much!! We had Elder Leota Of the Seventy come to Stake Conference! It was awesome!! He’s hilarious!! I had so many answers come to me at these meetings! So here’s my “You know you’re in Australia when….” moment of the week: During the Saturday night General Adult session, our 2nd counselor in the Stake Presidency was speaking when out of no where a spider came down and fell on his face and then webbed down to the podium and he spent a good 3 minutes trying to get it off him!!! It was hysterical! and he didn’t end up killing it but just left it on the side of the podium to sit until Sister Back came up to talk after him and she took care of it π hahaha she said “there is no way I can finish my talk as long as that is sitting there…” so funny! and then when Elder Leota spoke he quoted a Recent convert who bore his testimony about how he and his wife came out of “hell” when they joined the church or something funny like that… and everyone cracked up because yep.. a general authority said “hell” over the podium a few times! (DISCLAIMER: “Hell” is not a swear word here in Australia….. supposedly anyway.. haha people burst out laughing when he said it! haha a lot of American’s live here in Canberra lol)
welp that’s about it from the land of the roos and spiders… stay golden my friends!
Much love,
Sister Swan
