Hey y’all how’s trix?? π
I hope this week was fantastic for yous and that you saw miracles around every corner! <3 Well y’all transfer calls are in!! I’m staying in beautiful Wattlegrove!!! Woohoo! And Sister Sekete and I will continue to be companions for another transfer. In fact there wasn’t many changes at all to “the grove” haha we’re still sharing the Ward with Elder Cowan and Elder Ip but now we’re getting Elder Siri! And we’re still flatmates and wardmates with Sister Verances and Sister Makabenta(: love them all! The Church is true, the Lord is good, and the work is strong! π This week was full on.. we struggled to even teach just 10 lessons because we were busy with mission conference, interviews, heaps of service, and deep cleaning everything else we had to do haha in fact by saturday night we’d only taught 5 lessons… so on Sunday we set the goal to double our lessons for the week and we did it!! we taught 5 lessons after church! It was great. I really felt the spirit of the work push me to be my best. And that is what I’m going to dedicate this transfer to, going hard!! The Lord’s vineyard is waiting and we’re here to work(: I love it!
Well, speaking of mission conference.. it was fantastic! We got to hear from Elder Graham, a mental health counselor from New Zealand, and we got special training from our beloved Mission President and his beautiful wife (pictured below… lol she had forgotton her name badge and tried to cover it haha love her!) I learned so much and got to see all my faves!! It was my last time seeing my beloved Sister Stott and Sister Procarione before they go home in 4 weeks!!!! What the?!? I swear they had only been out as long as I have now like two days ago… I got to come back up to the mission office the day after our half of the mission conference to visit with Elder Graham and that’s when I got to see Sister Stott!! Tender mercy!! <3 love them all heaps!
Another exciting/terrifying thing was the night before the mission conference I get a call from my Zone Leader… “hey sister swan, can you do a musical number by yourself in front of 1/2 the entire mission tomorrow morning? Oh and idk if we will even have a pianist for you…” and I’m like: “oh sure Elder Cowan, let me just throw a little something together for ya…. *insert panic attack here*….” I about died.. but luckily I still remembered the song Sister Stott and I sang for our beloved Amanda’s baptism, “Where Can I Turn For Peace”, and so we adapted it to the hymn version so an Elder down in Canberra could sight read it better to accompany me the next day. It was terrifying, but it actually turned out very well. π we ran through it like once during lunch and then put our trust in the Lord and His angels to help us through it. It’s a good thing I have a super talented angel of an older sister who I know was helping my voice that day because all my sisters sing so much better than I do, and it turned out way too well to have just been me. So blessings!! π It was also weird singing it alone without my partner in crime!! We’ll have to sing it again together when we meet up at USU again!! π
Well I love y’all heaps and I hope this week treats you well! At the conference President Back showed us the clip from “The Lion King” where Simba meets Rafiki and he reminds him who he is and he even gets to hear from his father Mufasa to “Remember who you are..” President used it to remind us as well, that like Simba we are children of a King, a Divine King at that! And everyday we need to “remember who we are!” It reminded me of when my dad would tell us that everyday before we’d head off to school, just so we’d never forget our divine heritage. So folks, like Simba, remember who you are! And don’t let the past hold you back <3 God loves you and so do I!
βDon’t do anything I wouldn’t do π
βLove,β
Sister Swan
βPS the Fourth of July was fun!! We went laser tagging and ate “American-Style Skinless Hotdogs”… lol it still wasn’t the same, but Sweet Baby Ray’s imported from the grand ‘ol USA made it heaps better π
