Well y’all… I found a slug on my carrot today… out of the package… so that’s how my day has gone so far haha
nah jokes, it’s been a good day so far, and a GREAT week!
Song quote of the week: “there can be miracles, when you believe! though hope is frail, it’s hard to kill…”1st Miracle of the week: Angie and her partner Rowan came to church yesterday!!! Woohoo! Also, they are both set to be married AND baptized on Christmas Eve and then confirmed at church the next day on Christmas! We are so excited for them and for the new start that they will have to their life!! They both have been raised in the drug world and have such a beautiful desire to change and be clean, they are progressing and going strong! Please keep them in your prayers as these big changes start happening for them. 🙂
2nd Miracle of the week: We were following up with some of our members on our Branch list and stopped by to see the Love family. Sister Love answered the door (she’s not a member, just he is) and she asked “are you the Mormons?” and we full expected her to slam the door.. but instead she said “GREAT! come on in!!” 😀 and so we followed her in while she went to get her husband (the less-active member). We were right behind her as she peeked her head into the garage to tell him we were here and his response was what we were expecting… “ugh, tell them to p*** off!”.. at that point I unintentionally giggled and Sister Love turned around and said “well I’ll be! Did you hear that?? [Brother Love] they are standing RIGHT here.. you better say you’re sorry!” he then sheepishly came out of the garage and we proceeded to have a really spiritual lesson with them. After which Sister Love promised to come to church this week (not so much Brother Love though.. lol), which unfortunately we didn’t see her there.. but hopefully next week!! <3 it was a great/interesting/inspiring moment(: and quite a miracle!
Heart melting moment of the week: So my companion and I are the Primary teachers for our Branch and one of our primary kids, Dartanian (the little blonde boy in my pictures last week), asked me to be one of the speakers at his baptism next Sunday. (lol his mum had already asked me last week to do a musical number, but how could I say no?!?!) it was SO sweet! And then later after church we were having lunch with our Branch President’s family… and their son Tommy, during our lesson, told me I was a “PRO” primary teacher (we were teaching “PRO”: Pray, Read, Obey).. both these boys just melted my heart and helped me see that yes, my time here is worth it, and yes hard work pays off! I love my primary kids and I love being a missionary!!
Not much else to report.. except it’s been a brilliant week and we can’t wait to see what miracles come next week!
Love always,
Sister Swan
